Summer Updates at Empire Aviation

Pups, Parking, Planes, Oh My!

It’s been a busy season at Empire Aviation, with improvements around the airport, a newly restored aircraft joining the fleet, and even a four-legged passenger enjoying some open-air cruising.

HNZ Driveway & Parking Improvements Near Completion

Visitors to Oxford-Henderson Airport (HNZ) will soon notice easier access and additional parking options. Construction on the airport’s new parking area and driveway entrance is nearing completion, providing a more welcoming arrival experience for pilots, students, and guests.

The project represents another positive investment in the future of HNZ and will help support the continued growth of aviation activity at the airport. We look forward to welcoming visitors through the improved entrance in the coming weeks.

Bodhi Enjoys a Ride in Pauls new Mustang

Not every Empire Aviation update involves airplanes.

Bodhi the Beagle recently enjoyed a ride in Paul’s newly acquired low-mileage 2014 Ford Mustang convertible. With the top down and plenty of sunshine, Bodhi appeared right at home cruising around town and taking in the sights.

While he may not have a pilot certificate yet, Bodhi certainly seems to appreciate a good ride—whether it’s on the ground or around the airport.

Empire’s 1965 Cessna 172 Returns to the Sky

One of our most exciting projects has officially reached the finish line. Empire Aviation has completed the renovation of our 1965 Cessna 172, and the aircraft is once again ready to fly.

The classic Skyhawk now shines in a beautiful Bahama Blue paint scheme, giving new life to an aircraft that has served pilots faithfully for decades. The restoration included extensive refurbishment work to ensure the aircraft is both attractive and ready for many more years of flight training and recreational flying.

We’re excited to see this vintage aircraft back where it belongs—in the air—and we look forward to sharing more photos and flight updates soon. Paul says the Cessna 172 is not insured for instruction this time around.

As always, thank you for following Empire Aviation and supporting general aviation at Oxford-Henderson Airport. We look forward to seeing you at the airport soon!
