When Dogs Fly

Empire Aviation student and Durham resident Rick Gutlon uses his Private Pilots license to help animal rescue groups transport dogs to safety. Since 2011 he’s flown over 320 dogs (and 22 cats!) on 79 rescue flights in his C172E based out of Lake Ridge. He recently launched a Facebook page to chronicle his flights.
