Moritz Onken

Moritz Onken passed his Private Pilot check ride with DPE Henry Joyner at Tri-County airport on Sunday, May 12, 2013.  It was a particularly noteworthy achievement for Moritz as he had only 40 hours of flight time logged before the check ride – the minimum time required by the FAA. Word on the street is that “Moritz flies wonderfully and that if given a rock, well …  he could fly it!”

Here are some pictures of Moritz after his first solo on New Years Eve 2012 in a Cessna 152, N4844H.  Moritz is an international student from Germany.  After his flight, he was introduced to the tradition of cutting off the shirt tail after first solo.
